Justice Light House Human Right Educator Richmond Va 23225 (800) 430-1396 Job Posting: Independent Human Rights Advocates for Justice Lighthouse We are seeking passionate and knowledgeable independent human rights advocates to teach one-hour classes on human rights to teenagers and young adults at Justice Lighthouse. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals in our community and inspire the next generation of advocates for justice and equality. Responsibilities: - Conduct one-hour classes on human rights, utilizing engaging teaching methodologies to ensure effective learning outcomes. - Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the objectives of the Justice Lighthouse project. - Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment where students can freely express their thoughts and concerns. - Promote critical thinking and encourage active participation among students, allowing for meaningful discussions on human rights issues. - Provide guidance and mentorship to students, inspiring them to become advocates for social justice within their communities. Requirements: - Strong knowledge and understanding of human rights principles, international human rights law, and related issues. - Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and connect with diverse audiences. - Previous teaching or facilitation experience, particularly with teenagers and young adults, is preferred. - Demonstrated commitment to promoting justice, equality, and social change. - Ability to work independently and adapt teaching approaches based on the needs and interests of the students. - Flexibility in scheduling classes, as availability may vary based on school requirements. Compensation: - $100 per one-hour class taught. - Payment is made per course and varies based on availability at local schools.
